“They’re eating the cats…” With those words, Donald Trump unleashed a veritable cultural revolution and stole the show that was masquerading as a presidential candidates’ debate. It was a stroke of genius, unrecognized by the vast majority of commentators, bloggers, and podcasters, including many on the Right.

In assessing who ‘won the debate’ held on September 10, very few took the big picture view. Many were impressed by Kamala Harris’ aggressive demeanor as she spewed a torrent of demonstrable lies, while interpreting Trump’s low-key demeanor and his ‘cat comments’ as evidence of Kamala’s victory in the debate.

Given the overwhelming – and continuing – public response to Trump’s declaration that “They’re eating the cats,” there can now be no doubt that Trump was the clear winner of the debate. The world’s attention turned to Springfield Ohio where the problem of mass immigration could be seen on a level understandable to the average person on the street. It is to this demographic – the NPCs – that Trump’s ‘cat’ comment most appealed.

Of course, the controversy over the act of eating cats and dogs is not about culinary preferences; it’s about a clash of cultures – a culture of poverty versus Western culture. In most Western nations, the eating of cats and dogs is culturally condemned. Cats and dogs are considered domesticated companion animals, not livestock or wildlife of the type that are acceptable to eat in Western cultures.

As usual, those who raise this issue are being labeled ‘racist’ by the Left, when race has absolutely nothing to do with the nature of the problem. However, implications of being called ‘racist’ continue to have a psychological effect on those who do not know how to respond. Tragically, some of the very people who originally spoke out publicly about Springfield’s migrant crisis are now backtracking and apologizing for having brought the truth to the public’s attention.

This crisis is not unique to Springfield Ohio. It is a microcosm of the national crisis. Thanks to Trump’s ridiculed and criticized ‘eating cats and dogs’ comment, the issue of uncontrolled mass immigration has once again been forced to the top of this election’s agenda. Because Trump’s comment stated a truth, his credibility and popularity has soared as social media is flooded with songs and memes turning Trump into a hero figure.

Even as Trump demonstrably keeps winning more supporters and increases his popularity, it’s remarkable how many observers remain unable (or unwilling) to see Trump’s strategies and tactics in a way that is Just Right.
