That was just a small part of Ford\u2019s response to MPP Roman Baber<\/strong> (York Centre), whose January 15 letter to Ford dared to conclude: \u201cThe Lockdowns aren\u2019t working. They are killing lives instead of saving lives. I plead with you to accept this reality and end the Lockdown.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, accepting reality has never been a part of Ford\u2019s lockdown ideology.<\/strong> In an irrational response to Baber\u2019s well-reasoned case and request to end the lockdown, Ford expelled him from his caucus.<\/p>\n

“Effective immediately, Mr. Baber will no longer be sitting as a member of the PC Caucus and will not be permitted to seek re-election as a PC member,\u201d announced Ford. <\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Baber’s comments are irresponsible. By spreading misinformation he is undermining the tireless efforts of our frontline health care workers at this critical time, and he is putting people at risk. I continue to urge all Ontarians to stay home to stop the spread of COVID-19. We have bent the curve before and, working together, we will do it again.”<\/p>\n

And with that, Ford once again has portrayed himself as Ontario’s premier COVID case.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

After having falsely accused Baber of \u201cspreading misinformation\u201d and of irresponsibility, Ford received a January 18 letter written by Dr. Richard Schabas<\/strong>, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health from 1987-1997.<\/p>\n

In that letter, Schabas confirmed that the \u201cfive key points\u201d in Baber\u2019s original letter were accurate and concluded: \u201cMr Baber deserves great credit for his courage in trying to open the discussion.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understandable that open discussions about COVID-19 are a natural threat to those who have indefensible narratives to promote.<\/strong> This explains both Ford\u2019s reaction and the broader continual attempts to censor or smear any narrative that approaches the truth.<\/p>\n

Roman Baber<\/strong> now joins Randy Hillier<\/strong> and Belinda Karaholios<\/strong> in sharing the genuine honor of having been expelled from Ford\u2019s caucus for questioning his lockdown ideology.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ford\u2019s irresponsible fear-mongering and spreading of misinformation continues as a matter of government policy.<\/strong> It appears there will never come a day when Doug Ford or Ontario\u2019s Progressive Conservative Party ever do anything even close to being Just Right.<\/p>\n
