Outrageous assertions and protests surrounding the metaphysically impossible act of \u2018appropriation of culture<\/strong>\u2019 have recently surfaced. They range from the BBC announcement that Monty Python is \u2018too white\u2019<\/strong> for today\u2019s British TV, to the cancellation of a Montreal play (SLAV) that featured songs \u2018composed by slave cultures,\u2019 something Leftists deemed \u2018an appropriation of black culture<\/strong>.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Left has now invented a collective called \u2018intersectional\u2019 feminism<\/strong>, a form of feminism that\u2019s all about racism. This movement has led a charge against the classic television series Sex And The City<\/strong>, denigrating it for portraying \u2018white\u2019 women of \u2018privilege,\u2019 and for portraying a sexual orientation that was \u2018orthodox\u2019 \u2013 meaning heterosexual.<\/p>\n

The arts and entertainment industry is but one target on a long list under attack by political correctness<\/strong>. It\u2019s a list that has included university and college campuses, now intolerant environments where challenging viewpoints are no longer being heard.<\/p>\n

\u2018Cultural appropriation\u2019 is an anti-concept<\/strong> used as a weapon in the Left\u2019s arsenal of political correctness, itself yet another anti-concept.<\/p>\n

The term \u2018political correctness\u2019 holds true to the principle that when an adjective is placed in front of an already clearly defined concept, then that adjective means \u2018Not<\/strong>.\u2019 In other words, by its own frame of reference, \u2018political correctness\u2019 means \u2018not correctness.\u2019<\/p>\n

So if \u2018political correctness\u2019 is not about correctness, then what is it about? That question forms the foundation of our discussion today, as we examine varying interpretations of political correctness that nevertheless share one thing in common \u2013 an acknowledgement that political correctness is not merely incorrect, but evil.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Staring into the face of evil is understandably difficult and uncomfortable but is essential to overcoming it. Even so, the harder part begins when the correct actions necessary to make this happen must be determined and followed through.<\/p>\n

When those on the Left resort to anti-concepts like \u2018cultural appropriation,\u2019 their real objective is \u2018reality appropriation.\u2019<\/strong> Since the light of reality is evil\u2019s worst enemy, preventing reality from becoming part of the discussion is best accomplished by shutting down the discussion itself.<\/p>\n

To borrow from an old saying originally used to contrast the insecurity of security with the security of freedom: \u201cThose who value \u2018cultural diversity\u2019 more than \u2018viewpoint diversity\u2019<\/strong> will achieve neither. Those who value \u2018viewpoint diversity\u2019 over \u2018cultural diversity\u2019 can enjoy both.\u201d<\/p>\n

Only in an environment of free discussion about the issues that matter, can the light of reality reveal the Left\u2019s true face of evil in a way that is Just Right.<\/p>\n
