989 - Land acknowledgements—versus Truth acknowledgements | Jim McMurtry
"I'm just trying to get at the truth, and it's a very serious thing when they require you to lie to students," asserts our guest Jim McMurtry in addressing outright lies being taught in British Columbia public schools.
For years, state schools along with the media have been claiming that there were mass graves discovered of "indigenous" children murdered by the nuns and priests who ran the Kamloops residential school and others. The image accompanying this post depicts that very fiction and was among those used as an exhibit to indoctrinate high school students in British Columbia.
For challenging the official doctrine on residential schools by demonstrating that there were zero "Indigenous" children who died at these schools, Jim was fired from his teaching position in BC, despite holding a Master's Degree in educational history with a focus on Indian education policy.
And like the fiction about residential schools, another "Indigenous" fiction has been promoted in the form of the highly racist "land acknowledgements" being forced to be read in advance of various official public gatherings across Canada.
This propaganda is an atrocity given the facts that all land in Canada is governed by the Crown (including the reserves) and that, both historically and by definition, there literally are no indigenous peoples living anywhere in North America.
"At a deeper level they know they're wrong," observes Jim, "because they're pretending they're the ones that are right and moralistic (by) helping minorities." The irony in adopting this altruistic morality is that it effectively maligns the very people identified as "indigenous" by falsely labeling them as victims, incapable of self-sufficiency.
"Indigenous policy in Canada is incredibly destructive first and foremost to 'indigenous' people," concludes Jim. "We need to strengthen people so they can deal with adversity; we should not help them because it makes them unable to compete with others."
Having been consistently and regularly threatened with violence simply for displaying his "END LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS" placard, Jim knows what he's talking about when he observes that "there was no way that they wanted an idea to pierce through that armor of hatred that they built up and directed towards us."
In calling for Canadians to stop putting up with land acknowledgements or with D.E.I. hiring, Jim is Just Right in calling for all Canadians to be unconditionally identified as such, with equal rights and freedom before and under the law.
