During the People’s Party of Canada’s first National Convention the Party chose three Canadian veterans who are running as candidates to reveal the Party’s platform plank on veterans.

Two major initiatives of the plank are:

“Reinstating the fair disability pension as previously provided for by the Pension Act. The pension will apply retroactively to 2006 and lump sum payments received since then will be treated as advance payments”

and

“Reemphasize the legislative guarantee of the “Benefit of doubt” standard under the Pension Act.”

Prior to the announcement Johanne Mennie, Executive Director of the Party called on over 40 veterans to join her at the front of the hall for the announcement.

This is Just Right media’s coverage of the announcement. You will not be able to find as thorough coverage with any other media outlet. We thank the People’s Party of Canada for permission to use their audio for this presentation.

For more accurate automatic YouTube subtitling we have separated the French portion of this presentation which can be found here: French Presentation. The English portion can be found here: English Presentation.

People's Party

Our focus on the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), begun on last week’s show, gradually expands to a discussion of the broader influence and impact the party may have on the election, as our one-on-one interviews with selected PPC candidates wraps up.

Featured PPC candidates on today’s broadcast are (in order of appearance):

Mark Friesen – Saskatoon-Grasswood
Alain Deng – Vancouver South
Mike McMullen – London West
Rocky Dong – Burnaby North-Seymour
Frank Vaughan – Northumberland-Peterborough South

What becomes clear after hearing the sampling of candidates on this and last week’s broadcasts is that none feel restrained in the slightest when it comes to raising the issues that are front and center on their minds.

Assured of their freedom of speech, they know that theirs is a party of principle. They are also aware that in a world of political correctness, no such assurances are possible.

If Canadians are searching for a party that offers them the same assurance, then their search is over. After all, a party of, by, and for the people is not a new idea; it’s Just Right that such a party should be called the People’s Party.

Free to Speak

Canadians now have a new option at the polls in the upcoming October 21 federal election: the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), whose founder and leader is Maxime Bernier.

The PPC is a political party whose candidates can freely express many different concerns on a variety of issues – candidates who actually have a voice within their party, unlike most candidates in other parties.

This very freedom within the PPC is just one of the ways that the PPC is ‘doing politics differently,’ and it has already sparked numerous controversies within establishment political circles and media. Remarkably, PPC leader Maxime Bernier has not attempted to silence his candidates but has instead come to their defence.

This is just one of the characteristics that make the PPC unique, and its freedom of speech philosophy has been a major attraction for PPC candidates and supporters alike. Continue reading »

Alain Deng – People’s Party Candidate for Vancouver South

Alain Deng was a solid supporter of the Conservative Party of Canada, that is until it was taken over by Andrew Scheer, whose keynote address to the Halifax Conference made Alain “sleepy.” Such is the charisma of the CPC’s new leader who beat out People’s Party Leader Maxime Bernier by a slim margin under a questionable election.

The country under the “regime” of Justin Trudeau has been a “disaster,” says Deng. Large deficits and illegal refugees causing financial burdens and risks to security and safety, as well as attempts to undermine our sovereignty have prompter him to run for Parliament under the banner of the People’s Party in the riding of Vancouver South.

As a “front door” immigrant from Communist China he knows all too well the dangers of allowing unfettered migrants to enter this country without going the proper channels.

Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson is the People’s Party of Canada candidate for the Alberta riding of Red Deer-Lacombe. She is a Christian blogger, author, and former cohost of the TV show The 700 Club Canada.

She has been an opponent of the sexual orientation and gender identity resources for British Columbia schools, and has attracted attention recently for a proposed Bill, should she be elected, which would restrict late-term abortions.

We spoke with Laura Lynn in Gatineau, Quebec at the PPC national convention.
