PPC Panel

In a discussion proposed by People’s Party of Canada (PPC) candidate Dr Salim Mansur, five PPC panelists – Mark Friesen, Frank Vaughan, David Haskell, Laura Lynn Thompson, and Ivan Pak – dare to put their views about mass immigration, Islamism, and globalism on the discussion table for all to hear and consider.

The sheer hysteria on the part of the mainstream media and all of Canada’s other political parties surrounding these issues reveals a truth that is inescapable. They are all on the wrong side (the Left) of these issues and are opposed to what a majority of Canadians think and want.

After hearing the panelists, it is completely understandable why the Left finds itself resorting to utterly ridiculous and false accusations of ‘racism,’ censorship and promoting outright lies about the PPC. They have no other means of countering the integrity of PPC candidates or the truth inherent in the PPC philosophy and platform.

Now that the Canadian election is officially underway, it’s time that our politicians migrated to the issues that are the ones Just Right for Canadians to consider when they go to the polls on October 21.

People's Party

Our focus on the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), begun on last week’s show, gradually expands to a discussion of the broader influence and impact the party may have on the election, as our one-on-one interviews with selected PPC candidates wraps up.

Featured PPC candidates on today’s broadcast are (in order of appearance):

Mark Friesen – Saskatoon-Grasswood
Alain Deng – Vancouver South
Mike McMullen – London West
Rocky Dong – Burnaby North-Seymour
Frank Vaughan – Northumberland-Peterborough South

What becomes clear after hearing the sampling of candidates on this and last week’s broadcasts is that none feel restrained in the slightest when it comes to raising the issues that are front and center on their minds.

Assured of their freedom of speech, they know that theirs is a party of principle. They are also aware that in a world of political correctness, no such assurances are possible.

If Canadians are searching for a party that offers them the same assurance, then their search is over. After all, a party of, by, and for the people is not a new idea; it’s Just Right that such a party should be called the People’s Party.

Free to Speak

Canadians now have a new option at the polls in the upcoming October 21 federal election: the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), whose founder and leader is Maxime Bernier.

The PPC is a political party whose candidates can freely express many different concerns on a variety of issues – candidates who actually have a voice within their party, unlike most candidates in other parties.

This very freedom within the PPC is just one of the ways that the PPC is ‘doing politics differently,’ and it has already sparked numerous controversies within establishment political circles and media. Remarkably, PPC leader Maxime Bernier has not attempted to silence his candidates but has instead come to their defence.

This is just one of the characteristics that make the PPC unique, and its freedom of speech philosophy has been a major attraction for PPC candidates and supporters alike. Continue reading »

Mark Friesen is the People’s Party candidate for the riding of Saskatoon-Grasswood. We spoke with Mark at the PPC’s first national convention in Gatineau, Quebec about why he is running for the Party.

For Mark the issue was that the Conservatives bought into the United Nation’s globalist agenda while Maxime Bernier and the People’s Party have not.

Mark frequently posts videos to YouTube about the PPC and Canadian politics with reasoned views that come straight from the heart. You can view Mark’s channel here: Mark Friesen

619 – Gunning for guns

gun

In the wake of another round of gun incidents and mass shootings both in Canada and the United States, the issue of gun control and prohibition has inevitably raised its irrational refrain.

For decades, statistics from numerous jurisdictions have repeatedly revealed that gun crimes are highest in ‘gun controlled’ jurisdictions. When the controls are ended or reduced, gun crime rates are reduced. Yet these facts are not considered by those who see some form of ‘gun control’ or prohibition as a preventative solution to mass shootings or gang violence.

Instead, those gunning for guns have chosen to attack our fundamental freedoms as the means of solving the problem of gun violence. From attacks on free speech to blaming video games, mental illness, and the guns themselves, the futility of pursuing such measures should be self-evident in light of the evidence.

Sadly, the realities of gun ownership in a free society are rarely discussed or raised in the gun debate. Myths abound, such as the false belief that the United States ranks highest in gun crimes and violence. Few are aware that guns in the United States have been used to prevent far more crimes than are committed. And gun control advocates routinely ignore the reality that banning guns only punishes and controls law-abiding citizens, while empowering the criminals who themselves ignore all gun prohibitions and restrictions. 618 – The Anglosphere and Western Culture with Guest Salim Mansur

Anglosphere

National Post columnist Conrad Black has suggested that U.S. president Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will work together to “strengthen the Anglosphere, the most positive force in world affairs for 200 years.” It’s an effort supported by our guest Salim Mansur (professor emeritus of political science at Western University) who joins us to offer his insights to the multi-dimensional aspects of this ‘positive force’ in a way rarely understood or appreciated.

Are the values of the Anglosphere the same as Western values? Many might answer this question in the affirmative, but the comparison is not as straightforward as one might expect.

While many nations not part of the Anglosphere have indeed become westernized, it would be a mistake to conclude that these nations now share similar cultures or values. Understanding how these differences impact on the controversial issues of culture and multiculturalism goes a long way towards discovering a solution to many problems facing a so-called ‘multi-cultural’ West.

From the origins of a unique British-American relationship, to the impacting events of recent Western history, Salim guides us on a historical path rarely traveled. He paints the picture that identifies multiculturalism as a central force driving a myriad of contemporary political issues including: immigration and migration, climate change, media censorship, sexuality and gender, and of course, the threat of socialism and communism.

With the continued ascendancy of the Left in the West, any efforts to strengthen the Anglosphere have a long way to go before things turn in the direction that is Just Right; they will demand an eternal vigilance throughout the rest of a history yet to be written.

“Academia has been corrupted by generations of scholarship more focused on tearing down Western civilization than celebrating its triumphs.” ~ Rachel Fulton Brown

University of Chicago Professor Rachel Fulton Brown presents to the Society For Academic Freedom and Scholarship her view that the triumphs of Western civilization stem from its roots in Christianity and not so much in its secularism and that there are forces in academe attempting to destroy the Christian tradition in Western society and in doing so Western civilization itself.
