With the inauguration of Donald Trump as America’s 47th president, the stage has been set for the next round of conflict between America’s Left and Right. On the heels of America’s possibly worst administration ever, one might argue that there’s no place to go but up, but this would be shortchanging the Trump agenda.
Simply repairing the damage done by the Left is far from the ultimate objective of Trump’s agenda, which seeks to soar America to new heights – so high in fact, that planning to send American astronauts to the planet Mars is among the goals.
Meanwhile, back on earth, one of Trump’s most significant announcements concerns his intention to reinstate those members of the military who refused to take the Covid vaccines – with full back pay. Not only is this an unprecedented act of justice, it also sends a clear message about where Trump stands on the vaccine issue today – especially considering that he now has Robert F Kennedy Jr on his side as well.
And though not mentioned in his inauguration speech, Trump has already followed through on his previous commitment to pardon the ‘January 6’ political prisoners, as well as to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). Most significantly, these actions, along with the hundreds of other changes that Trump has enacted through executive orders, are all happening simultaneously.
However, Trump’s immediate urgency involves dealing with the domestic destruction wrought by hurricanes and fire that, upon closer investigation, turns out to be more the consequence of a ‘political’ fire rather than a natural one.
One thing is certain. The Trump of 2025 is very different from the Trump of 2016. Focused and determined in a way not possible during his first presidency, Trump is now in a position to deliver on his promises in ways never before envisaged.
For example, Trump plans not just to simply extinguish the fires in California, but to rebuild and restore the areas affected. You can bet that his enemies on the Left will no doubt do everything in their power to prevent being held accountable for the unnecessary damage caused by both their actions and inactions.
That’s why, when Trump makes his planned visit to a California on fire, he would be Just Right in saying “Your fire!” to those on the Left.
