Merry Christmas! For Christians and non-Christians alike, Christmas is that time of year for reflection, introspection, and for being a season that preserves the tradition of goodwill towards mankind.

Not a Christian invention, the practice of giving gifts, getting together with family and friends, and celebrating the birth of a new life brought into the world are universal values, enshrined by the Christmas season and shared by all peoples of goodwill.

Those very qualities can also be a source of great stress, as the absence of loved ones unable to share the season with us for various reasons become associated with a positive spirit and a great time of year.

Within the greater Christmas tradition also exist many differing personal traditions of the season. These include varying celebrations of family events, to the different music played and movies that are watched and re-watched faithfully as personal reflections of the meaning of Christmas.

Whatever your tradition at this time of year, this conversation between Danielle and Robert will affirm that when it comes to Christmas, there is no one way to celebrate Christmas that is Just Right.

Any romantic notions anyone may have about becoming a “famous rock musician” or working in the music industry will certainly be dashed. The reality of being in a band or becoming a success in the music industry is extraordinarily low, perhaps only around 2% – an unofficial statistic that seems to bear out the experience of most in the business.

The Danielle Metz Show – 011 – The Diogenes Club

Co-founded by Sherlock Holmes’ elder brother, The Diogenes Club was a fictional gentleman’s club created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and introduced in “The Greek Interpreter.” Apparently named after Diogenes the Cynic, shyness and misanthropy were the two qualifications to belong to this club.

Creating so-called “safe spaces” on university campuses is reminiscent of the Diogenes Club.

In this way, the Left’s general hatred, dislike, distrust or contempt for the human species or human nature can be concretized in policies aimed against the likes of Wilfrid Laurier University teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd or the University of Toronto’s professor Jordan Peterson.

The Left has gone so far off the deep end, suggests Danielle, that few can relate to the left any more. Lindsay will discover that all those who will come to her defense will be on the Right. And indeed, that is exactly what has been Lindsay’s experience, as recently featured on Just Right #535.

“The LEFT is eating its own and what a fabulous feast it is…” opens Danielle in this conversation with Robert Vaughan that is, as always, Just Right.

535 – Left right out—A valid “political spectrum” analysis

Not all who see themselves on the Left side of the “political spectrum” actually are. Nor are many who see themselves on the Right side of that “spectrum” actually on the Right.

The true nature of the fundamental forces and ideas represented by Left and Right have been long misunderstood – both by those on the Left and Right – and this has caused a host of political misalignments that today are becoming harder and harder to ignore.

Just listen to Lindsay Shepherd and Brendan O’Neill, two voices of the Left who have come to publicly doubt their own Leftist alignments.

Lindsay Shepherd, of course, has been made famous by going public with her recent encounter with the Left at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. Brendan O’Neill, on the other hand, is a journalist who describes himself as a Marxist-Libertarian of the Left, yet expresses certain values that appear more in line with classic liberalism. Racism Sucks

Is it OK to be white? It appears to be an innocuous black and white question: Yes or No?

The Right answer, of course, is Yes. The Left’s answer, of course, is No.

The fact that “facts don’t matter” was brought home by a spoof campaign initiated by 4chan which called on its on-line audience to post signs around Boston college campuses saying: “It’s OK to be white.”

As humorously predicted, the signs were immediately labeled “white supremacist” by anti-white racists of the Left. Boston police were called in to investigate, not the racists, but “white supremacy.”

If there are any hate crimes to be investigated, they should relate to what is being taught about race and racism on university and college campuses across North America.

Perhaps the REAL issue being raised by Danielle and Robert Vaughan in this telling tale of the Left’s obsession with race is this: Is it ok to be Just Right?

It would be nice to believe that the unjust and unfounded inquisition experienced by Teaching Assistant Lindsay Shepherd at Wilfrid Laurier University was an isolated and bizarre anomaly.

Unfortunately, her experience appears to have exposed but the tip of a poisonous ideology now rampant in all of Ontario’s educational institutions. It is an ideology that holds unsubstantiated opinions and feelings as superior to facts and truth.

Just ask our guests Dave Plumb and Paul McKeever, who both have witnessed this phenomenon first hand – though from differing perspectives.

Like Lindsay Shepherd, Dave Plumb was an educational instructor / teacher who found his job threatened by an anonymous complaint. Like Lindsay Shepherd, Dave was being held accountable for the “feelings” of the unidentified complainant while simultaneously being denied any way of directly addressing the complainant’s concerns. Ignore politics at your own peril because, as the old saying goes, “Even if you aren’t interested in politics, politics is interested in you.”

Just as the reasons for getting involved in politics may be many, so too the reasons for staying as far away from politics as possible may also be many.

What makes some people intellectually stimulated by politics while others remain bored or repulsed by politics?

That’s the elusive question of the week that Danielle and co-host Robert Vaughan tackle in this exchange of personal anecdotes and experiences. It appears that no matter where you sit on this question, there is no one perspective that is Just Right – unlike their conversations that always are.
