The Trucker’s Freedom Convoy was a pivotal moment in Canadian history and one which will be studied for many years to come.

Predictably, the dependent press (legacy media outlets in the direct pay of the Liberal government) were notorious for their mishandling of the event. Their feeble and often amateurish attacks meant to vilify the protesters by means of deception and outright falsehoods were thwarted by the coverage of the rally by honest journalists such as Andrew Lawton of True North.

In order to set the record straight for the sake of posterity, Andrew published The Freedom Convoy—The inside story of three weeks that shook the world (Sutherland House). The book quickly became a best seller. In it, Andrew details how the rally was nothing like that depicted by both the dependent press and the politicians in government.

Andrew also reveals the inner workings of the organization that started the Convoy although “organization” is a term used loosely as it soon became apparent that the rally was quickly evolving into a massive grassroots movement spanning the country and involving several thousands of protesters.

Fueled by disgust and even rage over the tyrannical measures the Trudeau/Singh government had inflicted on them during the preceding two years Canadians across the country supported the truckers in numbers never seen before in this country. The response was noticed all over the world with similar convoys starting up in Europe, Australia, and the United States.

Robert Vaughan sat down with Andrew to discuss his inside knowledge of the freedom convoy and the events of those three weeks that shook the world.

The Free State Project has become a freedom success story in the United States. Stemming from an essay by Professor Jason Sorens, now of St. Anselm College, which proposed that in a state with a population of about 1 million, a critical mass of only 20,000 freedom activists could shape the politics, laws, and culture of that area into one more accepting of, and conducive to, individual freedom.

Derek Proulx, an active volunteer of the Free State Project, joins Just Right Media’s Robert Vaughan to discuss the movement’s many success stories and how other states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada can benefit from their journey in the right direction.

During his tour of Canada’s Maritime Provinces, I was honoured to have a conversation with People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier.

Maxime is perhaps the only Western politician calling for peace and prosperity in Ukraine and asks that the two warring parties continue negotiations to end the conflict.

We also talked about the effectiveness of Canada’s Senate in revoking the Emergencies Act, the defunding of the CBC and an end to all subsidies to media including advertising funds, the irrationality of Justin Trudeau’s and Jagmeet Singh’s measures on travel for those not “vaccinated,” and the prospect for the publishing of his book “Doing Politics Differently.”

In an era of massive violations of individual rights by tyrannical governments around the world British cartoonist, Bob Moran’s work has become iconic for the freedom movement. His artwork both pokes fun at the political elites while revealing their true nature as despots.

He has recently teamed up with The Democracy Fund, a Canadian charity promoting the cause of individual rights and freedom.

Robert Vaughan spoke with Mr. Moran about The Democracy Fund, his political motivations, and his influence on a culture in decline and in desperate need of positive imagery and inspirational humour.

755 – Elon Musk’s ‘private’ strategy for free speech

Widespread speculation about the consequences of Elon Musk’s recent offer to buy Twitter has produced some interesting narratives of hope, doubts, skepticism, and celebration.

Motivations aside, Musk’s actions have clearly upset members of the ‘fake news’ media, while those on the side of ‘truth and free speech’ are cheering him on.

Twitter’s reputation as a censor of viewpoints that do not support ‘official’ narratives on everything from climate change to Ukraine has been well earned. Even the president of the United States, Donald Trump, was banned from the social media site.

Paradoxically, Twitter claimed its right to censor and prohibit access under the premise that it is a private company (though publicly traded), while Musk now suggests that his purchase and private ownership of Twitter is the means to protect free speech on the site.

Meanwhile, efforts to control the public narrative by governments and politicians continue to go well beyond mere censorship. For example, Canada’s government is now in the process of forcing Facebook and Google to subsidize selected Canadian news outlets. So the battle to protect freedom of speech is far from over.

As a strategy for protecting free speech, it will remain to be seen whether Twitter’s possible change of status under Elon Musk proves to be Just Right, or whether it is but one small step in the Right direction.

French journalist Éric Zemmour is running for the Presidency of France this April and as with any “conservative” candidates who stand against open immigration policies he is being typically vilified by the far-Left media and falsely accused as being a racist.

Professor Salim Mansur of Western University gives us his views of Éric Zemmour, the immigration policies of Western societies, and the predictable treatment given Zemmour by the globalist press.

The media on trial in the People’s Court | Salim Mansur

Three prominent trial verdicts in the USA have recently demonstrated that the mainstream media are completely disconnected from Mainstreet USA. In all three cases, the media used these court cases as vehicles to push the false narrative that America is systemically racist. In all three trials, jurists chose to set aside the racist narrative of the press and make reasonable decisions based on evidence, facts, and the truth.

The far-Left media, celebrities, and politicians have been rightfully humiliated as jurists found that the facts don’t fit their narratives. Case closed. Court adjourned.
