It would be nice to believe that the unjust and unfounded inquisition experienced by Teaching Assistant Lindsay Shepherd at Wilfrid Laurier University was an isolated and bizarre anomaly.

Unfortunately, her experience appears to have exposed but the tip of a poisonous ideology now rampant in all of Ontario’s educational institutions. It is an ideology that holds unsubstantiated opinions and feelings as superior to facts and truth.

Just ask our guests Dave Plumb and Paul McKeever, who both have witnessed this phenomenon first hand – though from differing perspectives.

Like Lindsay Shepherd, Dave Plumb was an educational instructor / teacher who found his job threatened by an anonymous complaint. Like Lindsay Shepherd, Dave was being held accountable for the “feelings” of the unidentified complainant while simultaneously being denied any way of directly addressing the complainant’s concerns. 533 – America’s great “wreckoning” | Salim Mansur

Added to the wreckage of celebrity personalities facing public moral outrage over past alleged sexual improprieties, NBC News announced on November 29 its termination of Matt Lauer, citing similar improprieties for its response to a single complaint.

It is therefore fitting that our discussion today includes some reflections on America’s Great Sexual “Wreckoning” – our own term derived from the wreckage of celebrities and high profile personalities who seem to have exhibited very little “self awareness” about the inappropriateness of certain sexual conduct.

That discussion with Western University Associate Professor of Political Science, Salim Mansur, begins with a greater reckoning – a “Great Reckoning” that is already underway and is being favorably influenced by the world leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The significance of Trump’s recent Asian tour and of major revolutionary developments in Saudi Arabia has been clouded by media distractions concerning domestic sexual improprieties by local celebrities. 532 – Thoughts about Wilfrid Laurier University’s thought police

Have you heard about the latest education crisis on campus? Even if you have, the crisis may be worse than you think.

Teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd played a three minute video clip from TVO’s the Agenda (a state-funded television network show in the province of Ontario) in her class. She was promptly disciplined for daring to expose her Wilfrid Laurier University students to the views of Professor Jordan Peterson (University of Toronto) who appeared in the played video clip.

Called into a disciplinary meeting, it was a modern-day Inquisition, one based on as much ignorance and superstition as was the original. Shepherd secretly audio recorded the exchange and upon its release, media and public reaction has been one of deserved shock and disgust.

Yet, the real “problem” with Lindsay Shepherd’s showing of the Agenda is far more significant and dangerous than the narrow issues of “gender pro-nouns” and proper “grammar” that her inquisitors pretend it to be. Continue reading »

Introducing THE DANIELLE METZ SHOW: First previewed to listeners of Just Right on October 26, we are pleased to announce the official launch of the Danielle Metz Show, now available on line through Just Right Media.

Danielle’s conversations with co-host Robert Vaughan offer listeners a quick and casual exchange of ideas about some single issue or concern of the day. And as always, it’s not right wing; it’s Just Right!

THE FEMINIZATION OF EDUCATION: As a mother of three, with one in high school and two in kindergarten, it should not be surprising that Danielle has kicked off her new series of commentaries with a discussion of education, and about what she sees happening with her kids in Ontario’s school system.

The feminization of our public schools has fostered a culture that vilifies masculinity, suggests Danielle, after observing what her own kids have been exposed to in Ontario’s education curriculum. The “feminized education environment” in Ontario today regards boys as dysfunctional girls who need to be cured of their undesirable masculine traits.

Is there systemic sexism in Ontario’s school boards? Has the feminization of public education contributed to some of society’s worst social ills?

Those are just a few of the questions tossed back and forth between Danielle and co-host Robert Vaughan in this unique exchange of issues and ideas that, as always, promises to be Just Right!

530 – The dismissal of consent – From prostitution to immigration

When people of “like minds” find themselves opposed to each other on certain specific issues, there is usually a fundamental principle or concept either missing from the debate or being misrepresented / misunderstood.

Recently, two seemingly unrelated issues have offered evidence of this epistemological dilemma: (1) prostitution, and (2) immigration.

On the prostitution front, the recent murder of sex worker Josie Glenn in London, Ontario, has renewed the local debate about prostitution and the sex trade. On one side of the debate are anti-sex feminists, as represented by Megan Walker of the London Abused Women’s Center. On the other side are pro-sex feminists as well as the women who work as sex workers (as represented by Safe Space).

Is prostitution best defined simply as “sex for money” or as something that is “intrinsically violent”? Are these views of prostitution contradictory or are they simply differing perspectives on the same activity? It’s an unusual divide: feminist against feminist; women against women. 529 – Guest: Salim Mansur – Hugh Hefner and the Playboy legacy

With the passing of Playboy founder and icon Hugh Hefner on September 27 at age 91, subsequent discussions about his legacy and the influence that Playboy continues to have today have been disappointingly reduced to a feminist debate about whether Hefner was a “liberator” or an “oppressor”.

In stark contrast to the myopic discussions of sex usually heard in such a restricted context, our in-studio guest Salim Mansur brings a breath of fresh air to yet another discussion considered politically incorrect: the celebration of sex between men and women.

Says Salim:

Just as Freud pointed out, ultimately everything boils down to sex. The whole of life throughout history is ultimately about the primordial basic relationship between a male and a female. Out of that relationship comes great art, great music, great painting – and out of it also comes the dirtiest violence, misogyny, abuse, excesses. That’s life.”

DIVISIVE CRISIS – WHEN UNITED WE FALL: Since the introduction of official multiculturalism, the preoccupation of politicians with race, ethnicity, culture, religion, and other group identities has now reached the level of obsession and absurdity, one that has exposed a clearly sinister objective: restricting freedom of speech.

In practice, multiculturalism is demonstrating itself to be little more than racism enforced as cultural “diversity” – offering an illusory pretense of racial harmony and “unity” that demands censorship in order to disguise the truth – that multiculturalism is the problem creating divisions and conflicts, not the solution.

Consequently, restricting free speech has become a necessity for the Left. As those who discuss these issues openly and honestly are experiencing, even Google has become obsessed with restricting discussions about cultural issues, particularly if those discussions concern Islam. Given that issues related to Islam constantly appear on the front pages of our newspapers and are the top stories in other media, it’s a discussion that simply cannot be avoided or evaded. Yet that’s exactly what’s being attempted.

Canada’s province of Quebec has surprisingly done the Right thing when it passed Bill 62, described by columnist Barbara Kay as a “religious neutrality law which will ban face covers in the giving and getting of public services.” Continue reading »
