925 – The Majority Rule: The majority is never Right

Earlier in democracy’s history, its operative principle was not considered to be ‘majority rule,’ but instead, ‘majority government.’ This expressed the idea that only those who had reached the ‘age of majority’ should be eligible to vote and participate in government. It was an age at which a person became a self-responsible adult, capable of exercising informed consent, and otherwise could be held responsible for his/ her actions.

In a free democracy, no one ‘rules’ anyone else. But in a democracy based on ‘majority rule,’ that principle no longer holds true.

The Left views ‘democracy’ as a system of ‘majority rule’ under which the winning group is given the legal authority to rule over other groups and individuals, all justified on the grounds of having achieved some kind of ‘majority.’

The Right views democracy as a system of governance in which no one can ‘vote’ to infringe upon anyone else’s right to Life Liberty and Property. Voting is restricted to matters of governance (justice, military, police, etc.) outside of the private sphere of activity. This would constitute majority government as opposed to majority rule. Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle blue jeans ad has proven to be a ‘jean therapy’ against the WOKE virus. But is it a cure?

The literally insane reactions to the ad by a myriad of women saying that they are objecting to ‘eugenics’ was both laughable and tragic. Calling upon vague and contrived associations with Hitler, their objections were justified using terms and arguments like the following:

“Sweeney has great genes; she’s a Nazi; she’s fascist; she’s a racist; she owns a German shepherd as her dog whistle; her initials spell ‘SS’; she has white skin, blue eyes and blue jeans; American Eagle is promoting fascist propaganda, Christian nationalism and white supremacy; Sweeney is Hitler’s wet dream; cotton jeans are racist; American Eagle is reviving the Third Reich; Sweeney represents white supremacist patriarchy capitalistic beauty standards; the ads portray fascist aesthetics; the script is bigoted BS,” and much much more. 923 – The Obama bombshell—and the call for accountability

In the wake of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s bombshell report regarding former U.S. President Barrack Hussein Obama’s traitorous actions against the United States of America and its citizens, there are many voices calling for some kind of serious and real accountability. But in the absence of any such accountability over past political actions that were demonstrably harmful and destructive to the lives of Americans, it is understandable that many remain skeptical about such a possibility.

But the elusiveness of achieving ‘accountability’ in government may be the consequence of deeper forces beyond any individual’s direct control. Unfortunately, in a democracy governed with the ‘consent of the governed,’ the difficulty in holding individual politicians ‘accountable’ for their political actions is an unavoidable part of the democratic process itself. After all, the usual way for politicians to be held ‘accountable’ for their political shortcomings has simply been by losing elections.

So maybe the real story here is not just about Obama’s traitorous actions, but also about how and why so many Americans – supposedly citizens of a free society – either could not see Obama’s anti-Americanism, or worse, openly supported it. So who’s really accountable?

When Obama first became president in 2008, it was glaringly clear that he was no friend of America. Calling upon Americans to “summon a new spirit of service,” his collectivist philosophy became much more explicit in his second term, when during his January 2013 inaugural speech he announced that “preserving our individual freedom requires collective action.” Continue reading »

922 – Third Party politics: Two’s company, Three’s a democracy

In the wake of Elon Musk’s recent formation of a ‘third’ political party in America – the America Party – many on the Right have viewed this development as a direct threat to Donald Trump’s MAGA movement, while others view it as a potential opportunity for the MAGA movement.

Though there are many more than three political parties in America, it is interesting to note that they are all referred to as ‘third parties.’ Indeed, the very term ‘third party politics’ is both illusionary and ironic, given that it is based on an unspoken acknowledgement that such parties exist within an accepted binary framework of a two party polarity.

But given that the two party electoral option is now being recognized as a single ‘uniparty’ non-option, another controversy has arisen. Some are now arguing that political parties no longer serve a useful function at all, while others maintain that political parties are an essential part of any democratic process.

To complicate matters further, within the second group there is a further division over whether there should only be two parties in opposition to each other, or whether multiple ‘third’ parties have a place in the democratic process. Continue reading »

921 – The erotic side of human sexuality

Recent studies and surveys concerning human sexual behavior are emerging with data possibly uncomfortable to some, while reassuring to others.

Some studies point to trends revealing that young people today are having less sex than those of previous generations. Additional statistics reveal that more people today than ever are regular consumers of pornography.

But the biggest surprise of all is that women have become a significant percentage of visitors to adult porn sites like PornHub, and that their arousal patterns are very different from that of men, in a way not commonly understood. Continue reading »

920 – The artificial debate about Artificial Intelligence (AI)

It’s interesting to observe how words like ‘intelligent’ and ‘smart’ are being used to describe devices that are anything but.

There is no doubt that technological advancements have produced machines and computer programs that appear to behave or respond ‘intelligently,’ and the speed with which computers can calculate, compute, and otherwise perform ‘automated’ physical functions is far more efficient than what is ‘humanly’ possible. We have come to refer to these inventions broadly as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

But efficiency alone is not a measure of intelligence. Like shovels, hammers and electrical appliances, computers are just tools. And while all tools are more efficient than direct human physical effort, tools are nevertheless an extension of human intelligence. They are labor saving devices which save effort, something no machine could ever experience.

As a tool, AI is not to be feared, but embraced as such. However, there is a great danger in equating ‘artificial’ intelligence with human intelligence or reason. Continue reading »

919 – The defining point: EVIL is LIVE spelled backwards

There is a symbolic truth to the saying that ‘EVIL is LIVE spelled backwards.’ After all, the defining point of ‘evil’ concerns life itself.

But ‘evil’, like ‘good’, is an abstract concept. Being able to see and recognize evil when one encounters it often seems even more difficult than trying to define it.

The most popular form of evil is generally known by another name: socialism. That too few are able to equate socialism with evil is cause for concern, to say the least. But that so many equate socialism with the good is cause for outright alarm.

Dennis Prager of PragerU has advised that “wisdom begins with understanding that human nature is not basically good, nor evil.” In choosing socialism, most do not understand either the principles of socialism itself, nor the nature of the evil that makes socialism possible.

Thus it is essential to listen to the growing number of people who have lived and suffered under socialism now coming forward to sound the alarm. To that end we have recently featured accounts of how socialism manifested itself in countries like North Korea, Senegal, Venezuela, and Iran. As Venezuelan immigrant Daniel Di Martino describes his personal mission: “I decided to educate Americans on the horrors of socialism.”

People who have freedom tend to take it for granted. But the fragility of freedom can never be overstated. Sometimes, to see and appreciate what one has at hand, it is necessary to look beyond, to appreciate what those in other nations do not have and wish they did.

It’s called freedom and it’s found exclusively on the political polarity that’s Just Right.
