Identity politics seems to have reached its limit when Christians become victims.

In the wake of the Easter Sri Lanka church bombings by Islamic jihadists the tweets of condolences by high-ranking Democrats led by Barack Obama have given us a brief glimpse into their ideology and their psyches.

Rather than identify the targets of the bombing as Christians, as they clearly were, Barack Obama tweeted an offering of prayer to the “tourists” and “Easter worshippers” affected by the bombings. Hillary Clinton and many other prominent “Obama worshipers” quickly and dutifully followed suit tweeting out their response to the death of the followers of this new-found religion of “Easter worshiping.”

The word “Christians” must have stuck in their throats as they typed out their condolences. Rather than admit the obvious, that peaceful Christians were the victims and jihadist Muslims were the terrorists, these leading Leftists decided to rebrand an entire religion and in doing so revealed their own religious bias as “State worshipers.”

A tax on “carbon” is a tax on life. Carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant, but according to the ruling class, the fact that we – by the very act of breathing – produce it, effectively makes US pollution.

Never mind that carbon dioxide is plant food and is essential to life on this planet, we must pay penance for our very existence to the elites that jet around the world expounding upon the dangers of global cooling, er, global warming, um. . . wait (I’ve got it now): “climate change”.

Join Danielle and Robert as they explore yet another example of “rules for thee and not for me” and the propaganda surrounding the so-called threat of CO2 to the planet.

socialism

The growing appeal of socialism, particularly among the young, is both alarming and exceedingly dangerous.

The experience of socialism as manifested in countries outside the Western nations is generally alien to most Westerners, given their more capitalistic histories. The horror stories of mass starvation and genocide historically perpetrated in the name of socialism are rarely attributed to the nature of socialism itself, but to something otherwise dysfunctional within the particular culture.

Persistent is the false belief that destructive and failed variants of socialism simply weren’t socialism to begin with, and were instead some form of communism or fascism. The failed attempts at implementing socialism just weren’t done properly, argue socialists.

To distance themselves from the unavoidable and systemic evils of socialism, modern socialists have created the anti-concepts of ‘social democrat’ and ‘social democracy.’ If democracy has an Achilles’ heel that will lead to its own destruction, it is these ridiculous notions of ‘social democracy,’ and ‘social Democrats,’ both euphemisms for socialism and socialists. True democracy and socialism are simply incompatible, both in theory (as discovered through philosophy) and in practice (as repeatedly witnessed in history). Continue reading »

605 – Unlocking the mystery of consciousness

Metacognition

It is ironic that the nature of consciousness still remains a ‘mystery’ in our age of science and technology. After all, these fields themselves required ‘conscious’ focus and effort to become credibly established. Yet, attempts to study consciousness on a scientific, medical, or technological basis only ‘prove’ that these fields of discipline are not up to the task.

Indeed, evidence suggests that many people do not even want to know or understand the real nature of their conscious being, since the answers are not always comforting, particularly when compared to long held beliefs that consciousness can somehow exist without physical form.

Some recent news headlines we examine tell the story: “Scientists spur brain activity in dead pigs” / “Does consciousness continue after the brain dies?” / and “Why can’t the world’s greatest minds solve the mystery of consciousness?”

To understand the nature of consciousness, we find ourselves forced to rely on the disciplines of philosophy and psychology, for science and medicine have never been able to quantitatively measure or pinpoint anything capable of being studied that we call ‘consciousness.’ Continue reading »

Copyright or copy-wrong?

Between the European Union Copyright Directive and the latest surge of copyright claims and strikes on Youtube, it seems the concept of fair use has become fairly useless.

In the world of memes and content sampling for independent commentary and tutorials, when is intellectual copyright justifiably applied and when is it weaponized to silence opposing views?

Join Danielle and Robert as they discuss the impact of the concept of intellectual property and monetization on the internet.
