Absurdity takes many forms, and some of the stories finding their way into many media reports today certainly fit the bill. Though the stories themselves may not be threatening or scary, what they symbolize might very well become so.

In their appraisal of some ‘absurd’ reports, Danielle and Robert cite three recent media features that share the common threads of ‘group think’ and ‘victim culture’ ideologies (two absurdities in and of themselves).

When a low percentage of ‘black skiers’ on a particular ski slope is interpreted as evidence of racial bias, it’s clear that the great outdoor ‘white space’ being objected to by that writer isn’t the snow.

When mankind’s exploration of space and the planets is portrayed as an undertaking to ‘colonize’ space in a manner resembling the historical imposition of one culture upon another, it’s clear that those now calling for the ‘decolonization’ of space have already Left the planet. Continue reading »

It’s one thing to break down negative stereotypes and traditions, but quite another when it is being done to create new ‘stereotypes’ and ideals that are more fiction than fact.

That appears to have become the primary goal of many ‘Hollywood’ television series, which – by design – have compromised their stories and plot lines with social commentaries and objectives that are simply not necessary but which serve the purpose of ‘the designers.’

Citing the current 2018 ‘Lost In Space’ TV show, which in contrast to the original 1960s series, has portrayed the father (John Robinson) as a somewhat emasculated image of the original, Robert and Danielle offer examples from many other popular TV series that illustrate the same pattern of social reconstruction.

Hollywood’s attack on the traditional family father figure has long been taking place in other cited series like All In The Family, Married With Children, and Modern Family. Meanwhile, other politically ‘progressive’ trends have infiltrated the stories of shows like Friends, Boston Legal, Castle, Bluebloods, Gotham, and others.

There is no question that many of these shows offer excellent entertainment value. However, the disproportionate emphasis on racism, the reversal of male-female dynamics, and the assumption of social attitudes far in disproportion to what is experienced in real life, can make one wary. Is it just good entertainment, or is it an attempt to change political attitudes that ‘the designers’ hope will eventually translate into real life politics?

The irony in all of this is that most of the social attitudes now under attack are those that were already Just Right.

With their royal thoughts on a royal subject, Robert and Danielle reflect on the May 19 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held at Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom.

Whatever one’s views on the subject, it’s not necessary be a ‘monarchist’ in order to appreciate the cultural significance of the event.

Against the backdrop of serious troubles facing the United Kingdom, royal weddings remain one of those events that still retain a clear association with the history and culture of the kingdom. With its transition from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy, the way was paved for the eventual recognition of individual rights – and of the state’s role and responsibility in protecting those rights.

Against all of the changing and varied frames of cultural reference that have presented a challenge to the peaceful kingdom, interest in the royal wedding transcends the nation’s problems.

The symbolism of the wedding may incorporate many things, from the fairy tale of living in a castle – fantasy brought to life – to the tradition of family and nation in a way that unites and brings people together.

Either way, notes Danielle, royal weddings provide a “feel good moment that celebrates life, love, happiness,” and portends a future that promises to be Just Right.

Tommy Robinson, best known for his public opposition to the ‘Islamification’ of Britain and for exposing ‘industrial-scale child sex rings’ highlighted in British court cases, has himself once again become the focal point and symbol of Britain’s rapid descent into a police state.

The established and uncontested facts surrounding Robinson’s arrest are clearly unconscionable acts undertaken by utterly corrupt officials.

It is as if Britain had lost the Second World War and was operating under the principles of the government with which it was at war. Many recoil at such comparisons, considering them extreme. But just what does a ‘police state’ look like?

On the surface, generally no different than our own neighbourhoods, note Danielle and Robert in their mutual lament about what has happened to Britain. It is only when one attempts to speak publicly, enter a profession or business monopolized by crony politicians, or attempts to exercise a right to one’s own life liberty and property in a manner not approved by the state, that the reality of the police state really becomes ‘visible.’

Just ask Tommy Robinson.

It’s not Tommy Robinson who should be sitting in a jail today; it is his jailers. Only when that happens will we be able to say anything about the Tommy Robinson affair that’s Just Right.

Canadian Cop-Out

Talk about a group identity crisis! That’s exactly what Danielle and Robert do in this discussion about Canadian actor Donald Sutherland, who shamefully, has admitted to feeling shame and guilt – for being a white male.

Having appeared on NBC Today to promote his television series Ice, Sutherland related his experience with movie co-star Helen Mirren (The Leisure Seeker) who accused him of “being the most privileged person on earth” because Sutherland is a white male. Being seen as part of a group that is “mendacious, misogynist, bigots, racists” was, apparently, “appalling” to Sutherland.

But have no fear. Even though white and male, Donald Sutherland had an out: “I am a CANADIAN, and that’s what I am….” In so doing, Sutherland provided an example of how the collectivist mind progresses: from racism – to nationalism – to hypocrisy.

Shame on Donald Sutherland for being a Leftist (collectivist), which is the prerequisite for accepting group identities as the defining point of an individual’s character and achievements.

Shame on Donald Sutherland for not having condemned Helen Mirren’s racism and misandry on the spot.

Shame on Donald Sutherland for choosing to re-tell this appalling encounter in a positive light via his own phony virtue signaling, based on yet another group identity – being Canadian.

But being on the Left, and having fully accepted collectivist identity over individualism, it’s understandable why people who view themselves and others in this way are incapable of doing what is Just Right.

The Death of Western Culture

As public anger and resentment grows over ever smaller and insignificant issues, it appears that the West is indulging in a form of cultural masochism. In other words, Western Culture is destroying itself from within – a clear symptom of Leftist influences.

Do many on the Left truly have a death wish? Given the evidence, It’s a question that’s being asked more and more these days. The masochistic trend seemed to have passed a tipping point on the internal threat to our own culture with last summer’s Charlottesville riots, but that may only have been one marking point in a chain of events that continue to expose the Left’s true objectives.

Above all, there is a conscious and deliberate effort on the part of the Left to prevent knowledge of Western culture, by misrepresenting Western values, context, and history. That’s understandable, since Western values and the success of Western culture continually disprove Leftist ideologies.

Unfortunately, the Left’s sinister strategy has been working. It has gained an upper hand in the West by creating a climate of ignorance and misinformation that falsely lends Leftist ideology some appearance of credibility. For example, most public school systems in North America no longer teach their own history in context, thus attempting to make issues like slavery and racism relevant in an environment where they no longer exist (while conveniently ignoring them where they do exist – in the world’s Leftist jurisdictions).

Whether the West will survive the Left’s hatred of life without a radical counter-revolution or major conflict is something that remains to be seen. But both Danielle and Robert agree that the failure on the part of the West to define and promote Western principles are at the root of the problem. And that is why, in contrast, creating awareness of these principles is also at the root of doing what is Just Right to correct it.

2017 Solar Eclipse

It’s one of those editorial items that Ayn Rand might have cited in what she called her “horror file,” those news stories and commentaries of her day that best illustrated America’s deteriorating intellectual and moral climate.

The trend continues. From the pages of Atlantic Magazine, in an August 18, 2017 commentary by Alice Ristroph (American Blackout), came the argument that the pending solar eclipse was, in effect, a racist eclipse.

“It’s pure lunacy,” says Robert Vaughan in his conversation with Danielle. “This is insanity. This is not sane. The author would, in past, have been placed in an asylum.”

Worse, the loony commentary appeared in a supposedly credible media source.

With the media “lens of the Left” so intensely focused on real and imagined incidents of racism, the then-pending eclipse was overshadowing their stream of anti-Trump stories. So why not turn the lunar event into a racist metaphor to protest Trump’s America? That, according to Danielle, is how the Atlantic Magazine’s editorial comes across, particularly given its political content.

It’s a fascinating look into the dismal minds of those who are constantly focused on race and group identity. What is continually being “eclipsed” is logic and reason. That’s why the superficial and associative thinking of the Left will always be incompatible with what is Just Right.
