648 – Lies, damn lies, and statistics — about COVID-19

Now that the first ‘two crucial weeks’ of a state-imposed lockdown have passed, we have entered a second ‘two crucial weeks’ period – with promises of more ‘two week crucial periods’ ahead of us – as everyone waits to see if the anticipated statistical predictions regarding COVID-19 actually come to pass.

First, we were faced with a coronavirus health pandemic. Then, world governments created a second crisis by shutting down their economies and precipitating an unemployment pandemic and a financial pandemic. Now, it appears that we have a serious COVID-19 ‘statistics crisis,’ which may, in the end, be the one most responsible for precipitating all the fear and panic concerning the first two.

An increasing number of analysts are calling into question the validity of COVID-19 projections based on extrapolations of very dubious data samplings. There is also evidence surfacing that the statistics are being manipulated to present a false picture of the situation.

For example, there is a huge difference between measuring ‘cases’ of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and measuring the number of people suffering from the COVID-19 disease. Yet our governments have intentionally decided to treat each of these very distinct concepts as being identical.

It is becoming increasingly recognized that the statistics cited in our daily COVID19 updates may not be statistically valid. and do not represent valid comparisons or projections. Continue reading »

Globalism and the multicultural threat | Salim Mansur

The political ideology of globalism has adopted a number of tools to further its destructive agenda and multiculturalism stands among them as one of the most damaging.

Professor Salim Mansur of Western University explains how multiculturalism’s roots in Canada begin with the policies of Pierre Elliott Trudeau and culminate with those of his son, Justin. Both Trudeaus have described Canada as being either a “mosaic” of cultures, a country without an official culture, or a country with no core identity. These assertions are patently false, of course, but have been adopted by the media and the Intelligentsia as fact.

The insidious nature of multiculturalism is that it gradually weakens a nation’s ability to stand firm against the onslaught of collectivists and socialists leaving it vulnerable to rule by the globalist elite.

Recent drastic actions taken by various global governments have called into question the wisdom of their forcing a ‘cure’ on the populace that is far worse than the disease.

“Facts. Not fear,” proclaim Canadian government officials as they proceed to terrify Canadians from coast to coast about the coronavirus. Yet the only ‘facts’ offered are meaningless statistics such as, for example, citing “688 cases with 5 in hospital and 19 deaths.”

How do these statistics (which are dwarfed by comparative statistics related to a host of other viral infections) possibly justify any of the actions being taken by our politicians? Do our politicians know something we don’t know? If so, not telling us is as big a crime as one can imagine.

We have been told that this is being done “to protect the health and safety of Canadians.” We have been told that this is being done “to flatten the curve and plank the curve.” We have been told that things “will get worse before they get better.” Continue reading »

There have been times throughout history where a particular moment calls for a certain type of person to lead. World War II had its Churchill. The American Civil War had its LIncoln. The Falklands War had Margaret Thatcher. Today with a lethal pandemic not seen since the 1918 Spanish Flu the world has Donald J. Trump.

No other leader but President Trump has acted so quickly in response to this crisis, restricting travel, reducing regulation, putting together a relief package, and finally recognizing that, in the end, the economy must not be destroyed in the process and a balance must be found.

Salim Mansur, Professor Emeritus at Western University, puts President Trump amongst the greatest leaders in history as we watch this disease spread, destroying lives and economies as it goes.

Flattening the American economy | Salim Mansur

In a case of the cure being worse than the disease, President Trump is asking if the “flattening of the curve” is worth the destruction of the United States economy. He has indicated that he is not willing to let that happen with a Tweet today suggesting that a different approach to this crisis may be decided upon 15 days from today (March 23rd).

Salim Mansur, Professor Emeritus at Western University, shares Trump’s concern and suggests that the recent blocking of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) by the Democrats in the US Senate is an attempt to impose the Green New Deal by stealth. A new deal that would permanently cripple the United States economy.

Communist China’s mishandling of the novel coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent deaths are a direct result of their authoritarian rulers who should be indicted for crimes against humanity says Professor Salim Mansur of Western University.

Misinformation, disinformation, outright lies, and cover-ups are business as usual for the Chinese Communist Party which has already been responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of their citizens since the revolution of 1949.

In light of the current health crisis, the rest of the world should reconsider its cozy relationship with China and treat them as the adversary to individual freedom that they are.

Salim Mansur, Professor Emeritus at Western University, says that the Chinese Communist Party and its leader, Xi Jinping, must be held to account for their deliberate mishandling of the Wuhan Virus outbreak and waging war on the rest of the world with the spread of this contagion.

Salim also expresses his fear that the drastic economic measures being implemented throughout the world, but especially in Canada, maybe going too far and causing more misery and suffering than they are trying to alleviate.
