Comments Off on 628 – Canada’s real pot-heads — Politicians high on regulation
Oct242019
Many people believe that cannabis has been ‘legalized’ in Canada, but this is not so. What has been called ‘legalization’ is really a form of government control over cannabis that makes the previous prohibition pale by comparison.
In effect, the formerly free (though illegal) cannabis market was replaced by an un-free (though legal) market.
Meet Canada’s new and real pot-heads: the crony politicians who have taken over and monopolized the cannabis industry through arbitrary regulation and outright extortion. Led by Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, these newly organized criminals wield the force of law in a way that only serves their own political interests at the expense of everyone else, even those who have never used cannabis.
The outrageous new laws being used to control the cannabis market in Canada only demonstrate that government regulation is oppression, and this is a principle that applies to all enterprises and economic activities controlled by crony politicians.Continue reading »
It should come as no surprise to our regular listeners that with Canada’s federal election only days away, Just Right Media would fully endorse Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada (PPC).
“Fighting for freedom is the most important fight that we must do and we are doing that together,” said Bernier at the PPC event held in Hamilton on September 29. “When I (created the PPC), I thought that I would be alone – but I’ll fight for what I believe. And after a month, we had more than 28 thousand founding members and now it’s a growing movement, more than a political party.”
As long as that remains the mission of the PPC, it will continue to have our support and endorsement – even after the election. It’s hard to do otherwise, given that the party’s first platform completely conforms to the principles and ideas expressed on Just Right.
Not only that, but regular Just Right contributor Salim Mansur has become a leading voice within the PPC movement, and its leader, Maxime Bernier, is the only political party leader in Canada who opposes all censorship and supports the right of Canadians to discuss any issues of concern.Continue reading »

Toymaker Hasbro has entered the cultural war against reason and women with the introduction of Ms. Monopoly—a board game variant of Monopoly. In this newest incarnation of the favourite table-top diversion, we have women players paid more than male players and getting more money when they pass Go.
Danielle and Robert explain how this cultural phenomenon of supposedly helping the feminist cause by treating women as victims and unable to succeed without assistance is detrimental to women, detrimental to society, and an assault on common sense itself.

Comments Off on 626 – Uncensored—Freedom of speech and the PPC
Oct102019
It’s hard to ignore the massive crowds attending the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) events across the country, yet the mainstream media does so as a matter of course.
Consider what happened at the September 29 PPC event held at Mohawk College in Hamilton where nearly 1000 people attended to support the PPC’s freedom platform. Most of the mainstream media’s attention was focused on the fascists protesting outside the event. Consumed by their irrational hatred and ignorance, these protesting fascists were never correctly identified by the mainstream media, while their utterly false assertions that the PPC is a ‘racist’ party were allowed to continue unabated and unchallenged.
Canada’s 2019 federal election has reached a new low when it comes to bringing accurate information and the real issues that affect Canadian voters. The main culprit and “enemy of the people” is the mainstream media, which now receives federal subsidies from a corrupt and socialist government.
Silencing the voices of the PPC has become a major effort by the mainstream media and by all of Canada’s other federal political parties, especially the NDP, whose leader, Jagmeet Singh, openly advocated censoring the PPC because of the ‘values’ espoused by the PPC: freedom, responsibility, fairness, and respect. In the mind of Singh and the mainstream media, these ideas and values (which are never explicitly cited by them) are “hateful.”
The mainstream media has been providing a steady stream of fake news, and resorting to misrepresentations, outright censorship, evasion of the facts, and political correctness – all calculated to keep Canadians ignorant and misinformed about their true choices at the polls and what those choices reflect in practice.
With the emergence of the People’s Party of Canada under the leadership of Maxime Bernier, these unconscionable practices of the media and the parties of the Left must be brought to the attention of voters, especially since the PPC now offers them something to vote ‘for’ rather than ‘against’. Currently, the only way to do this is through social media, where audiences can see the unfiltered stark contrast between what the PPC is advocating and what is being reported in their daily print and broadcast media.
Perhaps that’s why one of the key social media outlets invited and openly welcomed at PPC events during this election has been one demonstrated to reliably and objectively report the truth about the PPC: Just Right Media.

The story of Greta Thunberg’s pearl-clutching and condemnations of “how dare you” has overshadowed her message of doom, gloom, and the impending apocalypse.
For her handlers to feed on Greta’s autism is as much a disgrace as the media circus surrounding this 16-year-old’s anxiety — an anxiety created and stoked by politicians whose end game is power, control, and a much poorer existence for humanity.

The Left has a tactic to confuse and distract that is as old as deceit itself. To control the mind one only has to control the words.
Step by step the Left is not only redefining the discourse of society but the very way we think. Changing the term “convicted felons” to “justice-involved individuals” is just a recent example (this one from San Francisco) of how changing the words we use to describe something changes our perception of that thing.
But a rose by any other name would smell as sweet and, so too, a criminal by any other name is still a criminal regardless of the efforts of those would have us think otherwise.

According to a media that has avoided conducting any investigative journalism about her, Greta Thunberg is a leading voice of the global movement to ‘fight climate change.’ But as usual with the mainstream media, this is just another fake story.
The Leftist movement that is using Greta as its propaganda machine is not ‘fighting’ climate change at all, but insists on changing the climate – namely, our social and political climate.
A symbol of the status quo of the Left, Thunberg is backed by the United Nations, Socialist International, George Soros, Bill Gates, and other various corporate, business, political and financial interests who are exploiting her to their advantage.
From exposing Thunberg’s fraudulent story about her rise to fame to describing and explaining the death cult that her ideology and the environmental movement represents, our look at this phenomenon reveals a greater story still.Continue reading »
Sometimes the hypocrisy inherent in a person’s actions can be a cover to hide what he is really being hypocritical about. That’s certainly true when it comes to the crocodile tear ‘apologies’ offered by Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau upon the revelation of a past in which he wore ‘blackface’ as a costume – on at least three known occasions that surfaced in the first week of Canada’s election.
Even though this is a behaviour that Trudeau had in past publicly labelled ‘racist,’ most Canadians are rightly reluctant to label Trudeau a racist solely on the grounds of wearing ‘blackface’ in costume some decades ago. This is ironic, given that it is Trudeau himself who continues to insist that his wearing ‘blackface’ was a racist act and who insists on apologizing for it. But this is mere distraction.
Because the real racism Trudeau should be apologizing for is his use of race to pander to win elections and thus, political power. His strategy is, after all, what objectively defines racism: “the utilization of racial differences, actual or supposed, for political ends.” (Universal World Reference Encyclopedia)Continue reading »
As the popularized phrase goes, sometimes we tend to be ‘blinded by science’ and draw conclusions that do not concur with scientific principles, or that at least, do not consider the very real risks and consequences of already known scientific principles.
This may be the case concerning optimistic projections concerning proposed space ventures predicted to be underway by the mid-2020s. Two proposals immediately come to mind: the earth-orbiting Von Braun Space Station and planned manned voyages to the planet Mars.
Upon closer examination, it would not be unreasonable to conclude that perhaps we have not considered the gravity of these proposals as they may affect those who would consider such opportunities to venture into space. Indeed, the nature of gravity itself could become one of mankind’s major obstacles concerning fulfilling any dreams of venturing into space.
Gravity is a phenomenon little understood, even though it is a ‘force’ perpetually experienced by all living creatures who inhabit planet Earth. From the direct effects on the human body when not subjected to earth’s full gravitational field, to the very nature of gravity’s role within the structure of the universe, a closer look the gravity of our situation certainly appears to be in order.Continue reading »
Comments Off on 622 – Countering the mass hysteria about mass immigration
Sep122019
In a discussion proposed by People’s Party of Canada (PPC) candidate Dr Salim Mansur, five PPC panelists – Mark Friesen, Frank Vaughan, David Haskell, Laura Lynn Thompson, and Ivan Pak – dare to put their views about mass immigration, Islamism, and globalism on the discussion table for all to hear and consider.
The sheer hysteria on the part of the mainstream media and all of Canada’s other political parties surrounding these issues reveals a truth that is inescapable. They are all on the wrong side (the Left) of these issues and are opposed to what a majority of Canadians think and want.
After hearing the panelists, it is completely understandable why the Left finds itself resorting to utterly ridiculous and false accusations of ‘racism,’ censorship and promoting outright lies about the PPC. They have no other means of countering the integrity of PPC candidates or the truth inherent in the PPC philosophy and platform.
Now that the Canadian election is officially underway, it’s time that our politicians migrated to the issues that are the ones Just Right for Canadians to consider when they go to the polls on October 21.

Our focus on the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), begun on last week’s show, gradually expands to a discussion of the broader influence and impact the party may have on the election, as our one-on-one interviews with selected PPC candidates wraps up.
Featured PPC candidates on today’s broadcast are (in order of appearance):
Mark Friesen – Saskatoon-Grasswood Alain Deng – Vancouver South Mike McMullen – London West Rocky Dong – Burnaby North-Seymour Frank Vaughan – Northumberland-Peterborough South
What becomes clear after hearing the sampling of candidates on this and last week’s broadcasts is that none feel restrained in the slightest when it comes to raising the issues that are front and center on their minds.
Assured of their freedom of speech, they know that theirs is a party of principle. They are also aware that in a world of political correctness, no such assurances are possible.
If Canadians are searching for a party that offers them the same assurance, then their search is over. After all, a party of, by, and for the people is not a new idea; it’s Just Right that such a party should be called the People’s Party.

Comments Off on 620 – Free to speak – for the People’s Party
Aug292019
Canadians now have a new option at the polls in the upcoming October 21 federal election: the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), whose founder and leader is Maxime Bernier.
The PPC is a political party whose candidates can freely express many different concerns on a variety of issues – candidates who actually have a voice within their party, unlike most candidates in other parties.
This very freedom within the PPC is just one of the ways that the PPC is ‘doing politics differently,’ and it has already sparked numerous controversies within establishment political circles and media. Remarkably, PPC leader Maxime Bernier has not attempted to silence his candidates but has instead come to their defence.
This is just one of the characteristics that make the PPC unique, and its freedom of speech philosophy has been a major attraction for PPC candidates and supporters alike.Continue reading »
Comments Off on Mark Friesen – People’s Party Candidate for Saskatoon-Grasswood

Mark Friesen is the People’s Party candidate for the riding of Saskatoon-Grasswood. We spoke with Mark at the PPC’s first national convention in Gatineau, Quebec about why he is running for the Party.
For Mark the issue was that the Conservatives bought into the United Nation’s globalist agenda while Maxime Bernier and the People’s Party have not.
Mark frequently posts videos to YouTube about the PPC and Canadian politics with reasoned views that come straight from the heart. You can view Mark’s channel here: Mark Friesen

In the wake of another round of gun incidents and mass shootings both in Canada and the United States, the issue of gun control and prohibition has inevitably raised its irrational refrain.
For decades, statistics from numerous jurisdictions have repeatedly revealed that gun crimes are highest in ‘gun controlled’ jurisdictions. When the controls are ended or reduced, gun crime rates are reduced. Yet these facts are not considered by those who see some form of ‘gun control’ or prohibition as a preventative solution to mass shootings or gang violence.
Instead, those gunning for guns have chosen to attack our fundamental freedoms as the means of solving the problem of gun violence. From attacks on free speech to blaming video games, mental illness, and the guns themselves, the futility of pursuing such measures should be self-evident in light of the evidence.
Sadly, the realities of gun ownership in a free society are rarely discussed or raised in the gun debate. Myths abound, such as the false belief that the United States ranks highest in gun crimes and violence. Few are aware that guns in the United States have been used to prevent far more crimes than are committed. And gun control advocates routinely ignore the reality that banning guns only punishes and controls law-abiding citizens, while empowering the criminals who themselves ignore all gun prohibitions and restrictions.Continue reading »
Comments Off on 618 – The Anglosphere and Western Culture with Guest Salim Mansur
Aug152019
National Post columnist Conrad Black has suggested that U.S. president Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will work together to “strengthen the Anglosphere, the most positive force in world affairs for 200 years.” It’s an effort supported by our guest Salim Mansur (professor emeritus of political science at Western University) who joins us to offer his insights to the multi-dimensional aspects of this ‘positive force’ in a way rarely understood or appreciated.
Are the values of the Anglosphere the same as Western values? Many might answer this question in the affirmative, but the comparison is not as straightforward as one might expect.
While many nations not part of the Anglosphere have indeed become westernized, it would be a mistake to conclude that these nations now share similar cultures or values. Understanding how these differences impact on the controversial issues of culture and multiculturalism goes a long way towards discovering a solution to many problems facing a so-called ‘multi-cultural’ West.
From the origins of a unique British-American relationship, to the impacting events of recent Western history, Salim guides us on a historical path rarely traveled. He paints the picture that identifies multiculturalism as a central force driving a myriad of contemporary political issues including: immigration and migration, climate change, media censorship, sexuality and gender, and of course, the threat of socialism and communism.
With the continued ascendancy of the Left in the West, any efforts to strengthen the Anglosphere have a long way to go before things turn in the direction that is Just Right; they will demand an eternal vigilance throughout the rest of a history yet to be written.
Comments Off on Rachel Fulton Brown – Is academia good for the soul?

“Academia has been corrupted by generations of scholarship more focused on tearing down Western civilization than celebrating its triumphs.” ~ Rachel Fulton Brown
University of Chicago Professor Rachel Fulton Brown presents to the Society For Academic Freedom and Scholarship her view that the triumphs of Western civilization stem from its roots in Christianity and not so much in its secularism and that there are forces in academe attempting to destroy the Christian tradition in Western society and in doing so Western civilization itself.

Comments Off on 617 – Social media censorship is not Right
Aug082019
Social media arose, in part, as an alternative to the so-called ‘mainstream’ media, an empowering communication tool for individuals made possible by the incredible technology of the Internet.
With mainstream media dominated by establishment voices of the Left, it was expected that those same voices would also be dominant on the internet and on social media. But that’s not what happened.
The rise of voices on the Right on social media demonstrated that their reports and commentaries were far more reliable – and popular – than what was being heard from the voices of the Left. This presented the Left with a challenge to their narratives that was previously absent.
However, what was initially not relevant to many who participated on social media platforms is the fact that the major platforms are owned and managed by those with a leftist agenda – the ‘social media giants’ – people who apparently don’t seem to mind manipulating the truth to their advantage. So now it has become relevant.Continue reading »
Comments Off on 616 – Against the people – The misleading narratives of the mainstream media

“The People’s Party of Canada is a political force that is not to be ignored or underestimated. The PPC is a call to arms,” writes listener Trevor D. in response to our show last week featuring the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) and its leader Maxime Bernier.
His observation is echoed this week by the Rebel Media’s David Menzies, who joins us briefly to share his own surprising insights about the PPC – and of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC). It was, after all, the CPC that was responsible for driving out both its former members Bernier and Salim Mansur for their courageous attempts to put the most compelling issues facing Canadians on the electoral platform.
As of July 19th when we attended a packed PPC meeting in London, the PPC had already amassed a slate of candidates greater in number than the Green Party, the Liberal Party, and the NDP, while boasting a membership of some 41,000.
Capacity and near-capacity crowds have been attending PPC events across the country where voters can meet Maxime and their local area PPC representatives – candidates whose backgrounds and qualifications defy the current mainstream media narrative about the PPC.Continue reading »

Tommy Robinson was sentenced to Belmarsh prison in London, England. It is a high security prison, housing serial killers and terrorists. It is essentially a vicarious death sentence. His crime? Contempt of court. Or at least that’s what the records state. His true crime is journalism. Comments Off on 615 – For the people | Maxime Bernier and Salim Mansur
Jul252019
Following a dramatic turn of events, Just Right’s regular contributor Salim Mansur has joined the team of Maxime Bernier’s newly-formed PEOPLE’S PARTY of CANADA (PPC) and will be that party’s candidate for London-North-Centre as Canadians head towards the October 21 federal election. Both Salim and Maxime join us today to tell a story that you will likely not hear in the mainstream media.
Having already spent ten months campaigning to be nominated as the Conservative Party (CPC) candidate for the riding, Salim’s Conservative candidacy was rejected because his views would be considered ‘Islamophobic,’ one of many critical issues that the Conservative Party refuses to discuss. Given that Salim’s views on Islamism have long been known far and wide, it is disgraceful that the CPC allowed him to campaign on that party’s behalf for so long before rejecting his candidacy. And of course, the irony that Salim is a Muslim himself cannot be escaped.
Fortunately, Salim’s voice will not be silenced, thanks to Maxime Bernier’s principled support of freedom of speech.
What the experiences of both Salim and Maxime illustrate is that the Conservative Party of Andrew Scheer is no different that Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party. A political victory for either of those parties represents a clear loss for Canada and the Canadian people.Continue reading »

Racism!
Or so say the usual suspects. President Trump did what he does best – created a twitter storm over a tweet. Comments Off on 614 – Trump still towers above the rest
Jul182019
For Leftists, what was once called the ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ has now become the new normal. Continued media criticisms of Trump on the most flimsy and unjustifiable grounds continue unabated.
Consequently, to those who are rarely exposed to real news, Trump’s positive accomplishments go unnoticed and unacknowledged. And of course, truth is displaced, resulting in a level of national ignorance and irrationality rarely witnessed on such a scale.
It’s certainly understandable that Trump’s political opponents should attempt to challenge him. But the pettiness and shallowness of their reactions to the President’s Fourth of July speech, which was a simple review of American history and the people who made America great, reveals a contempt and hatred not just of Trump, but of truth, freedom, and the values represented by America.
Rather than share in the celebration of America’s unprecedented accomplishments, the media of the Left cries out for ‘fact checks’ and highlights every misspoken syllable or word uttered by Trump. All this, while ignoring the truth of his message.Continue reading »
On the heels of a 2019 Leger Survey measuring Canada’s “Happiness Index,” pollsters revealed that while most Canadians regard themselves as being ‘happy,’ apparently Ontarians are Canada’s most ‘miserable’ people.
There has been much attention given over the years to the whole theme of happiness, how to measure it, and how to assess various national levels of happiness – as if such a measurement has some objective significance, meaning, or application. Does it? Is happiness even a ‘thing’?
In popular usage, it is clear that the word ‘happiness’ is used in differing contexts: from describing a day-to-day mood evaluation to an evaluation of life’s satisfaction.
Most dictionaries define ‘happiness’ in terms related to “the enjoyment of pleasure without pain,” – a very limited focus indeed if used as the sole standard of national ‘happiness’ measurement surveys.Continue reading »
It is fitting that during a week in which both Canada and the United States have celebrated their nationhood, that the very nature of what it means to ‘be’ a nation is our topic of discussion. Can a nation with ‘open borders’ still be considered a nation? Can a nation that has incompatible cultures within its borders still be considered a nation?
Dr. Salim Mansur, professor emeritus of political science at Western University, whose outspoken opinions on this issue are considered ‘politically incorrect,’ nevertheless offers a politically incorrect prescription that he believes would reverse the growing cultural divide created by ‘multi-culturalism’: Assimilate!
Given North America’s successful history of cultural integration and assimilation into what has been called the ‘melting pot’, Canada’s about-turn in 1967 represented a cultural regression that would undo the hard won positive results that defined its first hundred years as a true nation.Continue reading »
Canada has had no abortion laws for some 31 years now. When U.S. vice president Mike Pence visited Canada last week, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a point of raising the abortion issue with him by expressing his concern over women’s access to abortion in certain U.S. states. Many observers thought this inappropriate, given that the purpose of Pence’s visit was to promote the new trade deal between the two countries.
With recent changes to abortion laws in some American jurisdictions, a debate long thought settled is clearly not so. What has become clear after years of abortion’s availability is that it has not cured the social ills it was expected to solve.
A relatively unique characteristic of the abortion debate is that, while the issue has its extremely polarized opponents (who favor a total prohibition of abortion) and proponents (who want free abortions on demand), most people do not find themselves in either of these two camps. For most people, the availability of abortion is acceptable under certain conditions and not acceptable under other conditions.
Where one draws the line on abortion can be an extremely complicated consideration, taking into account many factors beyond the procedure itself.Continue reading »

Is veganism a creed subject to protection under the Human Rights Commission of Ontario? We may soon find out as a firefighter has filed a complaint against his employer on the grounds that his diet was not sufficiently accommodated whilst fighting a massive forest fire in B.C.. He self-identifies as an “ethical vegan” which he claims is a creed and therefore must be catered to by his employer.
What exactly is a creed and what obligations do employers have to accommodate the personal preferences of their employees?
Join Danielle and Robert as they discuss so-called “human rights” versus personal choices.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement that he would introduce a ‘Digital Charter’ to protect Canadians from on line ‘disinformation’ was a chilling indictment of his government’s ideology and political objectives.
Unable to control the public narrative in his favor as he heads into a federal election, Trudeau has sought to undermine the very foundation of liberal democracy by threatening to impose “meaningful financial consequences” on social media platforms that do not censor, ‘deplatform,’ or otherwise “counter disinformation” on their sites.
To call this unconscionable would be an understatement. But given the identity politics that has defined Trudeau’s government as one obsessed with categorizing the nation’s citizens on the basis of race, color, sex, language, heritage, gender, and religion, his agenda deserves to be called that and more. After all, maintaining falsehoods requires censorship; truth requires an environment of freedom of speech.Continue reading »
Comments Off on 609 – Socialized health care’s sacred immorality
May232019
In the United States, Medicare costs (along with the cost of health care services generally) continue to rise to unsustainable levels. As patient satisfaction levels decline, many Americans have been led to call for a Canadian-style ‘universal’ health care system. Meanwhile in Canada, and unknown to most Americans, health care waiting lists continue to grow, as more and more Canadians find themselves unable to get the basic care they need.
While each country boasts excellent health care services, broad accessibility to these services has become another matter entirely. Common to both countries are various prohibitions of the provision of medical services on a truly free market, which guarantees cost escalation. As more people find it difficult to afford their basic health care needs, politicians have seized upon the problem they caused by offering them a means to access those services without incurring a direct personal cost – socialized health care.
In the perpetual controversy over socialized health care, confusion reigns supreme, partially due to the varying testimonials of patients within a given system. Some are quite happy with the medical services they receive, while most appear less so. Another reason has to do with the fact that at any given point in time, only a minority of people find themselves forced to experience their health care systems directly, while the vast majority has no direct knowledge of the crisis looming at their doorsteps.
